- take a trip: This is an idiom meaning “travel.” You can also take a business trip, take a vacation, take a cruise, or (in British English) take a holiday.
- be back: To “be back” means to return. When you return from a place you can say, “I’m back.”
- be on: This is an idiom meaning “happen.” We usually use “be on” to talk about events. For example, the meeting is on for Tuesday.
- take off: This phrasal verb has a few different meanings, but in this conversation, it means to take time off from work.
